Information You Submit
Search Terms
When you enter a name or location into a search box, that query is sent to the third-party provider operating the tool. Waller County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s privacy terms control its handling of the query.
Messages
If you send an email or contact-form message, we keep the information needed to review and answer it. We do not share that message outside our organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Standard web systems may record limited technical details when a page loads. This information helps operate and understand the site.
- Your Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- Date and time stamps
Cookies
Cookies may be used to understand site use and support features. You can block or remove them through browser settings, although some parts of the site may then behave differently.
How Information Supports the Site
Collected information is used for a limited set of operational purposes.
- Keeping pages available and responsive
- Sending a search request to the selected partner service
- Learning which Waller County topics visitors find useful
- Diagnosing errors and technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
Links and Outside Services
This site links to Waller County release-record resources, sheriff and TDCJ pages, government portals, federal and immigration locators, and third-party search tools. Once you follow an outside link, that operator’s own privacy policy applies.
Advertising partners may use their systems to recognize activity across different websites for interest-based advertising. That tracking is managed by those partners, not by this site.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be handled by:
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order
Reasonable Security Measures
We use customary safeguards intended to protect information under our control. No website, network, storage system, or internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted information, use the Contacts page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and verification, you may ask for a copy of personal data we hold, request correction of inaccurate data, ask that it be erased, or opt out of certain processing. Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs requests to Texas government bodies for public records, but it does not turn this private site into the custodian of Waller County records.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as practices or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and continued use after posting is subject to that version.
